A Fatal Crossing by Tom Hindle

A Fatal Crossing by Tom Hindle

This book and writer has crossed my path before, so I was curious to dive in. There’s a few of these murder mysteries by Tom Hindle, often set in very recognisable places. I think the latest one is set in Lake Garda?

This book is sort of a Christie-sque mystery set on a transatlantic steamer in the 1920s. There’s drinks in first class, society snobbery, premarital affairs, below deck fights, and a glittering art scene. A ship officer and a detective make an uneasy detecting pair after a dead body is discovered on deck. There’s the whole locked room element with it being on a ship, and an entertaining cast of characters.

A quick and easy entertaining read, I’d recommend this for a holiday read! Definitely going to look up the other books too.

There’s a few twists in the tale.

One word: consistent.
