Mr Atherstone Leaves the Stage by Richard Whittington-Egan

I finished this book, but honestly I wouldn’t recommend it. I respect the research and I know a lot more about Battersea’s grisly Victorian & Edwardian murders.

There’s a few things here about Crippen as well. I also learned a lot about regional theatre of the 1890s-1910s. Sometimes ideas are just a lot better than the execution.

The book could have definitely been more focused and tighter. But sometimes it’s good to read what is clearly someone’s passion project and just take what you can out of it.
