The Last Devil To Die by Richard Osman

The Last Devil To Die by Richard Osman

I love this book series and felt like this one was definitely a highlight. It’s always a bit of a nerve-wracking time to sit down and read the latest book in a series you love. This one didn’t let me down and it was just the book I wanted to read as the weather got grim.

I enjoyed the slightly more emotional bent of the Elizabeth/Stephen relationship. The mystery/murder of this book built on existing characters and themes, but there were also some new emotional elements. For me, this book was a very enjoyable read, though I don’t think the actual crime mystery had me hooked, but the characters themselves. I found the peek into the lives and choices of organised criminals very entertaining.

Expect the usual antics, satire, and gentle humour with a lacing of emotions.

These books are like a warm hug.

One word: cosy.
