Our Wives Under the Sea book on the Tube

Our Wives Under the Sea by Julia Armfield

I was very curious to see where this book was going – and it was another book that’s been hyped up on social media recently. It’s honestly an engaging and engrossing read. It has a slightly creepy and claustrophobic atmosphere which makes it perfect for a holiday read (for me at least).

I think I liked it more when I took it as a metaphor for grief, there was something about the actual “mystery” that bothered me. Great exploration of relationship dynamics and friendships, as well as the relationships we have with our ageing parents and ourselves.

A head scratcher, but in a good way?

Loved the ending.
