Peril at End House by Agatha Christie

Peril at End House by Agatha Christie

Another Hercule Poirot mystery from the Queen of crime!

This one wasn’t as good as Sad Cypress that I have just recently read, but it’s still pretty good. The premise is a little different – can Poirot stop a murder before it happens? How can he get his heroine to actually take the threat against her life seriously? Are the people around her really her friends, or foes?

It’s got some great moments, some funny scenes, but it doesn’t have the usual strong imagery or psychological elements that I appreciate in Christie.

But you do get a lovely slice of a sleepy seaside resort antics and a group of bright young things. And there’s a bit of a twist at the end too, which I love.

Reading Christie is addictive! Always an easygoing read for me.
