Of House on Mango Street fame, Cisneros is a versatile poet and storyteller, and it was great to have this collection of her work that really brings a lot of important and disparate themes together. Love, identity, sex, travel, food, it’s all there!
Easy to pick up and put down and pick up again when you next need nourishment, I nevertheless read this quite quickly. Even if you don’t read loads of poetry, this is one to read!
